"The internet is an amazing creation!

Just twenty years ago computers weren't common in American households. Generation X and Y's parents have seen technology change in leaps and bounds more than any other US generation. I haven't heard anyone use the word encyclopedia under the age of eighteen before. With the power of the internet, answers to questions are at the tips of our fingers.

Unfortunately, there are bad apples in every bunch (including on the web) putting negative, inappropriate and incorrect information out there. Overall the internet is amazing and people are spending more time on the net that watching TV, allowing for great positions like the Young & Free SC position to be created at South Carolina Federal Credit Union.

We even have a branch of dominant media search engine Google located right here in South Carolina! Students can no longer make complaints about difficulty finding information for term papers. It's more difficult to lose contact with friends with the internet. If you misplace a phone number or drop your cell phone you can shoot an e-mail over to the person whose number you lost, or look the up on Facebook or Myspace. It does stink if you’re trying to duck and dodge someone you don't want to communicate with who keeps finding you though.

Love it or hate it, the internet is here to stay. Not being able to navigate on a computer is being compared to illiteracy. Times are very different than they were years ago before the ability to go online. Anything you can do by phone you can do online. Huh… I’m hungry, I’m gonna go hop online and order a pizza!
