Here is Nicole's current situation:

"Hey everyone! My name is Nicole and I am taking classes at Trident Tech and also working two part time jobs. I also attend College of Charleston as a communication major! Right now I am watching TV and staring at my cats completely zonked out on the couch. Cats have such a tough life, huh? Haha, yet they are always so exhausted! *Vote for Me!* NcR"

Here is Nicole's blog post:

"Isn’t it funny how history repeats itself?

Well maybe it’s not history…but human history. I’m not talking about the crusades or anything here. For example, take the human life. Mommy and Daddy decide that they want to have children and 9 months later, little Johnny arrives in this huge world looking nothing short of some kind of alien. No teeth, no hair, crying his little, blurry eyes out. He can’t hear all that well because, you know, his inner ear hasn’t matured fully yet and he can’t really see more than a foot in front of him. That poor fella is so confused and SO cold! Don’t forget to change that smelly diaper, Mom!

So little Johnny leaves the hospital and begins to be the apple of Mom and Dad’s eye. “He is growing so quick!” everyone always says. He sprouts up a couple feet, starts saying, “No, No!” and “Puppy!” then before you know it, Johnny is crawling, then walking, then going to school.

Eventually Johnny turns into John, also called “Big John” by friends. John lives his adult life having a great job in pharmaceuticals and raising a family of his own. Before John knows it, he’s not just a father, he’s a grandfather. What do you think happens to John? Well...he starts losing his hair…his teeth begin to fall out. He swears he was a good brusher. His hearing goes (but he won’t admit it of course) and soon after that, his sight is getting the best of him, and he starts to buy some glasses. ' I Just need them for reading!' he tells himself. His 60’s pass him by, his 70’s creep up on him and rush passed him, and before he knows it, John is 89 years old. 'Did he lose a couple inches of height?' Some of his family members wonder.

He enters a senior citizen home thanks to his family. “This place is not like all of the others, Dad…we promise! It’s like a resort! You will love it”. John doesn’t buy it, but doesn’t really have a choice. He can’t walk very well now, so he uses his cane to get around, and on bad days, his wheelchair is always waiting for him. 'I guess it’s not so bad here' he mutters to himself after playing bingo in the lounge on Mondays. He especially likes his personal nurse, Marva. She is really nice and kind to him, waiting to hug and comfort him every day when he wakes up freezing cold. Oh and, don’t forget to change that smelly diaper, Marva!
