Ladies and Gentlemen, mark your calendars! I, Lyndsey Vincent, am graduating from Charleston Southern University on May 8th.
Majoring in communications, while minoring in business has kept me a busy girl, to say the least. As a junior, I founded the Communications Club of CSU, where I currently reign as club president. In search of experience, fun, and hopefully a few references, I interned with the Charleston Riverdogs in their Special Events department during my fall semester. I am currently interning with the South Carolina Stingrays Hockey team expanding my range. I am learning how to market, promote and advertise all things associated with the team.
Along with all of the other graduating seniors of 2010, I am on the prowl for the perfect job
Young & Free SC Spokesperson = the perfect job for me!

Here is Lyndsey's blog post:
Throughout life, we meet so many people that impact our lives. There are people that we grow to love, those that have shaped who we are, and of course, those that momentarily wreaked havoc. These people affect our lives because we learn from them.
I vividly remember the day three years ago I met David Winstead– one of the managers at Fatz Café, where I still work to this day. My first day of work was spent wandering aimlessly around the restaurant to find a friendly face. To my surprise, there was a smile so bright, so welcoming that I subconsciously gravitated towards it. Was it that obvious that I was the “new girl”? After David introduced himself to me, he spent time introducing me to the entire staff, showing me the ropes, and even pointing out which servers were notorious for playing pranks on the rookies.
I learned very quickly that David wasn’t your average manager. He took the time to get to know each and every one of his employees, made it clear that if there was ever an issue in the work place or outside of it, he would always lend a helping hand. David contributed to our laughter multiple times per shift and was the guy everyone wanted to be around.
On January 19, 2010, David passed away at the age of 28. It was at his funeral that I realized just how many people admired him. Through the tears, his friends all had stories of David’s kindness, sincerity, selflessness, and charming personality. How in the world did one man make such a name for himself?
Later I came to the realization I want to be that person. I want to be the “go to” person people turn to in a time of need. I want to be able to hear peoples’ stories, help them with the issues that they may be facing, and most importantly be a friend.
Naturally, I was mad at the world and upset that death would knock at the door of such a lively, happy-go-lucky young man. But as time has passed, I realize everything happens for a reason, and maybe, just maybe, this occurred in my life in order to provoke me to be more than just a face in the crowd.
