What will the spokesperson do? Be an advocate for South Carolina's 25 and under crowd and represent South Carolina Federal Credit Union. The successful applicant must be:

  • Self motivated and able to talk to anyone, anytime
  • Dynamic, likeable and outgoing
  • Creative and energetic in writing and other communications
  • Comfortable on camera
  • Computer savvy
  • Able to film, edit and upload video
  • Comfortable with all things Web

The Y&F Spokesperson is expected to:

  • Become a member of South Carolina Federal Credit Union
  • Work full time for a full year
  • Travel, attend and speak at events throughout the year
  • Post daily blog entries and weekly video blogs

The Y&F SC Spokesperson must have a high school diploma. If the spokesperson is attending post-secondary school, they will be encouraged to continue with their plans. However, with the time commitment for this job, they’ll probably want to scale back to one or two courses per semester.

  • HD video camera with mic & accessories
  • iPhone with a paid contract during your term

Job Description

 
Purpose of the Spokesperson:

The Young & Free South Carolina Spokesperson represents the voice of the South Carolina's 25 and under crowd. This person is aware of what’s happening in the lives of people 25 and under, can relate to them, and is there to capture the essence of what this group is talking about.

Duties:

The chosen applicant will attend events, produce audio and video podcasts and post daily blog entries and weekly video diary entries. Throughout the year, there will be numerous travel and speaking commitments.

The Spokesperson will be required to:

  • Understand every aspect of South Carolina Federal Credit Union, Young & Free South Carolina and The MY Accounts
  • Understand the history of South Carolina Federal Credit Union
  • Create content for the Young & Free SC website including:
          – Writing four text-based blog posts per week
          – Producing one video per week that is posted to YouTube
          – Producing at least one segment for the Living Young & Free Show per month
          – Attending several events as the spokesperson per month
  • Join hands-on workshops to teach young people smart money management principles
  • Hand out branded materials at events (i.e. T-shirts, small promotional items, etc.) and talk to individuals to solicit feedback on a hot or pre-determined topic (may be related to finance, current events or current pop culture)
  • Capture video of individuals at events with interesting insights about relevant topics including:
          – The product
          – The event
          – Things important to that person in today's culture
  • Appear on a local radio station for a regular report from Young & Free SC
  • Reply to member/fan e-mail within 24 hours
  • Reply to member/fan text messages within 24 hours
  • Maintain a daily presence on Twitter and Facebook
  • Make suggestions to South Carolina Federal Credit Union (based on feedback gathered at events) about:
          – Video and blog post topics
          – Trends to watch for this age group
          – Ways to improve the product
          – Events to attend in the future

Responsibilities:

  • Keep proper care of all equipment supplied by South Carolina Federal Credit Union (computer, video camera, cell phone and merchandise to hand out)
  • Maintain a valid South Carolina driver's license
  • Maintain all deadlines set out in the calendar and notify South Carolina Federal Credit Union if there will be any problems with the schedule
  • Complete all tasks in a diligent manner
  • Track all givewaway inventory and alert South Carolina Federal Credit Union when stock is low; suggest new giveaway ideas based on feedback
  • Note: The digital video camera, MacBook Pro and iPhone will be the spokesperson's to keep after the duration of the employment contract
