Josh explains Last Band Standing

Drum roll please! Watch Josh announce the top five finalists for the Last Band Standing live event.

  • 1st – $1,000 and a set at ShineFest 2009
  • 2nd – $500
  • 3rd, 4th & 5th – $100 Wild Wing gift card

We are throwing the ultimate battle of the bands! It started with 24 fanstastic bands entering the competition. The public has voted and the five most popular bands are left standing.

Bands will compete at Wild Wing Café in Mt. Pleasant on Wednesday October 7 to win $1,000 and a set at ShineFest 2009!

Admission to Wild Wing is FREE but a donation of canned goods to support the Lowcountry Food Bank is appreciated.

 

 

 

T. Ballard Lesemann

Music Editor of the Charleston City Paper and local musician. T. Ballard is a great promoter of live music and always has his finger on the pulse of Charleston's music scene.

Charlton Singleton

Long-time Charleston trumpeter, educator, arranger and member of award-winning local band Plane Jane. Conductor with the Jazz Artists of Charleston’s Charleston Jazz Orchestra.

Mark Bryan

Founding member and guitarist of Hootie & The Blowfish, Awendaw-based songwriter, studio producer and solo artist. His latest solo album is titled End of the Front. Bryan also runs a project called Carolina Studios.

Quiana Parler

Charleston-based R&B/soul/funk vocalist, musical collaborator. She's well known in town for her American Idol auditions as well as for touring with Clay Aiken as a backup singer.

Joel M. Frank

Music Director, Assistant Programming Director and long-time disc jockey with The Bridge at 105.5 WCOO. Joel regularly books, organizes and promotes special music events.

The big event was held on the evening of Oct. 7, 2009 at Wild Wing Café in Mt. Pleasant. We had a great crowd and Chaos in Gotham, Hollow Reed, Meet the Sky, Stereo Reform and The Whisperjets put on an awesome show!

  • The Whisperjets took 1st – $1,000 and a set at ShineFest 2009
  • Stereo Reform took 2nd – $500
  • Chaos in Gotham, Hollow Reed and Meet the Sky all won $100 Wild Wing gift cards
